TIP #6:
Clear off your countertops!
I’m serious. I know you’ve heard it before but it really IS true.
Ideally, the only things you would have on your countertops are small appliances that you use often or are too heavy to put away, your compost bin (if needed), and your drying rack if you can’t raise it.
The benefits:
#1: You’ll have as much space as possible to prep your meals without constantly juggling where you're going to set things down
#2. Clutter adds to stress. Since you are looking at your countertops ALL the time this can make a large difference.
#3 It makes your countertops MUCH easier to clean.
Check out this article on Psychology Today about clutter affecting our mental state.
"Where do I put my stuff?” Luckily, my last tips have all been leading up to this one.
Tip #1: Relocate things that don’t need to be in the kitchen. Get rid of or relocate cooking and serving things that you don’t use.
Tip #2 won't create more space but it's still cool and it doesn't want to feel left out.
Tip #3: Use roll-out drawers and vertical storage to maximize your storage space.
Tip #4: Hang things on walls or inside of cabinets to create more storage space.
Tip #5: Add furniture and shelves to your kitchen (or dining room) to create more storage space.

To lower stress, just take one step at a time to make your kitchen a little better than it is now. Every step helps lower stress!
